Hi!
Hope you had a good weekend. Mine was quite sociable with friends popping in for coffee, friends for dinner on Saturday and a magical woodland walk at Horsford in Norfolk, with another friend on Sunday.
It was so lovely to watch our three girls making dens and chasing each other through this dense forest. There are distinct sections of trees, see below for some Silver Birch, but there were also sections of pine and Oak and others as well. This wood is truly fairytale-like and when one of our little party took a wrong turning and was missing for a short while (thank goodness for mobile phones), my little one was convinced she had been eaten by a wolf!
Flossie, my spaniel, injured her front leg on this woodland walk. Yes, this is the same dog who cut her ear on a walk on Valentine's day and who was attacked by a Staffie a couple of weeks ago. Floss is, without doubt, the most unlucky dog going when it comes to injuring herself. Walks this week therefore, truly have been with Betty.
I thought that I saw a buzzard a couple of weeks ago but presumed I must be wrong as I didn't think we had them in Norfolk. I've been missing their eagle-like cries since I've been back from Wiltshire as seeing them was a daily occurrence there. This morning however, I am convinced I saw one and in pretty much the same place as last time. I also saw a woodcock, a hare and a deer this morning too so a pretty good day for spotting wildlife. As usual I didn't capture them on camera. On the way back from school yesterday we spotted a barn owl sitting on a post by the road. It took off as we approached it and flew along the hedge line, staying with us for sometime before soaring off into some fields
I have had a couple of volunteers for my request of last week so I'm hoping to start that soon and may put the first portrait on next week. See last post for details if you're not up to speed and let me know if you're interested.
Anyway, back to painting Debbie today and I might finish my wagtail picture too.
Have a good day, bye for now x
